The facts:

Kevin officially founded RM&G Co. on October 31, 2009 after about ten years of freelancing, cartooning, t-shirt making, illustrating, noodling, planning, art school and rambling list making.

We may be a small company but we have mighty resources. When tackling an especially large project (or when we are exceptionally busy), we call on a network of freelancers that we've known and worked with for years.

The fiction:

RM&G Co. was founded in 1692 by a chance meeting of a monster (lurking in a broom closet), a robot (stumbling into said broom closet) and a passing ghost (of a man who, in life, rarely hid in closets and most likely didn't own a broom).

As one can imagine, the commotion was huge! Tentacles and claws flipping and flailing, things breaking and overturning, explosions! BROOO-- erm, that isn't right, BOOOOOMMM!!!!!

While it is unclear why said robot was heading into the broom closet to begin with, the resulting friendship is quite well documented as the robot is part-camera on his mother's side.

"How", you may ask, "does a robot exist in 1692?!" The answer is, as always, quite simple. Strawberry.

Who or what is Strawberry you might ask? A tale for another time! Stop looking behind the curtain!

Kevin M. Scarbrough

/ Creative Director
/ Mad Scientist

Kevin is a freelance graphic designer with experience ranging from ad agencies to design firms, small companies and non-profits. His offices have ranged from cubicles to private rooms to a converted supply closet. Kevin runs Robot, Monster & Ghost from a small office in River North in Chicago.

Random and interesting facts about Scarbrough

In addition to traditional media, Kevin has also designed a chair, a lamp, plush toys and several tattoos. He credits most of his success to a lifetime wasted watching old cartoons.

He is a graduate/survivor of Portfolio Center's glorious design program.

The Robot, Monster & Ghost Company is a boutique design firm supported with a network of freelancers. Our business structure allows us to handle large and small clients with equal ease.

Josh Stoik

/ Programmer
/ Egg Catcher

When it comes to hardcore code wrangling, Josh is the man on the job. His experience ranges from running an independent $1 button and t-shirt shop (as seen on MTV!) to working with a Russian hosting company. His back-end wizardry ranges from content systems to full scale web-based applications.

Random and interesting facts about Stoik

Josh smokes a pipe, drinks several gallons of coffee a day, and moonlights as a web comic character [Pop Culture Tragedy]. In high school, he had the super power to catch eggs falling from any distance.

Tiffany Godin

/ Copy Editor
/ Rebel Without a Clause

Convincingly librarian with her badass glasses and ability to tame the wildest of prose, Tiffany is responsible for taking client-provided text and helping streamline it. She keeps the punctuation professional and the words wickedly sharp.

Random and interesting facts about Godin

Tiffany enjoys the finer, more serious things in life. Like books and giant, ornery dogs named Dagon. Every time Kevin brings up the rumor (that he started and has failed to verify) that she owns every book ever written by every philosopher to ever live, she simply stares blankly at him before continuing in a new conversational direction.

Charrow

/ Illustrator
/ Squirrel Barista

Charrow loves squirrels and coffee...separately, as squirrels tend to give coffee an odd taste and look very pathetic when they are soggy. She was classically trained in making a mess and spends most of her days either cleaning up said messes or explaining said messes to her partner. She has been drawing as long as she can remember and has been getting paid to do so for the past four years.

Random and interesting facts about Charrow

Her interests include, but are not limited to: squirrels, animals dressed in people clothing, coffee, vibram frog shoes, swimming, and cannoli. Her dislikes include, but are not limited to anyone who dislikes her likes.

Given the huge variety of mediums, styles and methods of storytelling, we find illustration fascinating. Aside from what we can create in house, we regularly partner with other art-nerds.

Brian Nutt

/ Illustrator, Designer
/ Lord of the Barking Spiders

After acquiring the ability to draw anything that exists, Brian began the dangerous (but awesome) process of learning how to draw anything that does not exist. These days, Brian spends much his time conjuring monsters, zombies and aliens across a variety of mediums. He lives and works from a studio in Orlando, Florida (at the time of publication, fact checkers could not confirm "Orlando" existed).

Random and interesting facts about Nutt

When asked if he preferred drawing zombies or aliens, Brian just muttered "That's a ridiculous question" and drank an entire cup of coffee without stopping for breath. He has a well publicized love of miniature waffle makers (though, oddly, he finds miniature waffles to be offensive), yule logs and cabbage.

Katie Grosskopf

/ Illustrator
/ Duchess of Countesses

While we typically have humans write bios for our collaborators and employees, Katie's dog, Joon, took the helm for this one:

"Katie nice lady plays weird video movie thing all day and sometimes we snuggle on couch and then we play and now i sleep okay i love you bye."

...we apologize for this random assortment of gibberish and the uncapitalized "I", but dogs are not known for their writing abilities. As best we can gather, Katie is a huge fan of character development, fat wristwatches, cheeseburgers and comic books.

Random and interesting facts about Grosskopf

Katie likes that one person who laughs really, really loud in a group of laughing people. She loves Coke Zero and hates green peppers. She once worked with an Asian metal band that toured the country. Her roller derby name (we're not making this up) was THE DEWEY DECIMATOR.
